Compositions
The aspect of composing I value most deeply is collaborating with performers whose input elevates the compositions to their fullest expression. Inspired by music from J.S. Bach to Joni Mitchell to Gabriela Montero, I strive to infuse my work with structure and harmony, while also leaving room for performers to explore and innovate.
My compositions have been performed at Piccolo Spoleto, the American Women Composers Festival, and in university and other venues in the Southeast. I am a founding member of the Emrys Foundation which has supported the endeavors of women composers and artists for four decades.
